Why it exists

Purpose

Redstone is the most complex thing you can build in Minecraft, yet debugging it means staring at torches. Redstone Debugger records circuit activity, replays it, and analyzes it — turning redstone engineering into something you can inspect, not guess.

Getting Started

How to use Redstone Debugger

Install Fabric and drop the Redstone Debugger JAR into your mods folder.
Launch the game and open a single-player world.
Run /rd help to explore the command suite.
Record a circuit, then open the timeline to inspect events.
Run diagnostics to surface problems in the recorded activity.

Does it slow the game down?

The recorder is lightweight and auto-stops at extreme event counts, backed by a performance manager with profiler, metrics, caching and a memory monitor.

Do I need an AI provider?

No — all core diagnostics work fully offline. AI insights are an optional add-on.

Is it server-side or client-side?

It operates client-side; recording is single-player oriented.

What can it record?

25 event types via mixins — wire, lever, repeater, comparator, observer, torch, button, piston, pressure plate and more.

Is there a command interface?

Yes — /rdebug covers recorder, timeline, clear, export and perf, plus world and HUD overlays.

Can it explain my circuit?

Yes — the AnalysisEngine runs 12 algorithms (signal tracing, dependency chains, root cause, SCC cycles, critical path, clock detection) and can call an optional AI provider (including local Ollama).
