Why Hero Client?

How it stacks up against the other clients out there.

FeatureHero ClientOther clients
Feature set 127 features across the 16 categories the mod declares — every one catalogued with a lifecycle from the real registry. A fixed bundle of features, most of which you will never switch on.
Minecraft versions Real per-version builds for Minecraft 1.21 through 1.21.11 — 12 releases published separately, one JAR each. 26.x builds are in progress. Support tracks one or two versions at a time, then goes quiet.
Price & accounts Free, account-free, with an open API. Download the JAR and play. Accounts, subscriptions, or cosmetics locked behind a paywall.
Honesty Every feature carries a real lifecycle straight from the mod's registry — stable, beta or experimental — never faked as shipped. 'Coming soon' shipped as a feature; toggles that do nothing.
Performance Real FPS, average FPS, 1% low, frametime ring buffer and a CPU/memory/TPS dashboard. Marketing claims with no numbers attached.
Ecosystem The natural home for the Hero Studios ecosystem — HeroSync, Hero Agent, DPT and more. A standalone app you install once and forget.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Which Java version do I need?
Java 21 for Minecraft 1.21.x, and Java 25 for 26.x. Minecraft 1.21.x will not start on an older JRE — and a newer JDK, 25 for example, fails before the game loads. If Hero Client does not appear at all, check this first: it is the single most common reason it looks broken.
Which Minecraft versions are supported?
1.21 through 1.21.11 — 12 releases, each with its own real JAR. Experimental 26.x builds (26.1–26.3) are in progress.
Is Hero Client a fork or a wrapper?
Neither — it is an original client built from scratch on Fabric.
Does it require an account?
No. Downloading and playing is free and account-free. An account is only used for optional social and cloud-sync features.
How does the AI assistant work?
Bring-your-own-key across OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Groq, OpenRouter and Ollama, with encrypted key storage. It is part of the planned Phase 2 parity pass — not yet shipped.
Is it stable yet?
Version 2.2 is in beta. Every feature on this site carries the lifecycle the mod's own registry gives it — stable, beta or experimental — so nothing is advertised as shipped when it isn't. Expect some rough edges while the experimental tier is wired up.
How do I install it?
Install Fabric Loader for your Minecraft version, drop the Hero Client JAR and Fabric API into your mods folder, launch with the Fabric profile and press M.
Can I rebind keys?
Yes — the Keybind Editor (press M, then Keybinds) supports click-to-rebind, conflict detection and per-row reset. Every bind persists between sessions.
Is it client-side only?
Yes. Hero Client runs entirely on your machine and requires nothing on the server. Features that touch multiplayer state respect server rules.
How do I report a bug?
Use the support portal — it routes your report to the right place with the right details. The crash handler also produces a detailed report you can attach.
